A key challenge for managers in dealing with complex or large scale change is the difficult balancing act between ‘keeping the show on the road’ and ‘building tomorrow’.
Projects and programmes are necessary for building the future but can take on a life of their own causing them to go off course. And if they are not properly owned and guided they can consume quantities of cash but not deliver the intended results....as they may not be grounded in the fundamental reality of needing to run and improve today’s business as part and parcel of building the future.
